Get your gear ready because it is almost that time of year again, time to hit the slopes. Andes Tower Hills near Alexandria, Minnesota has scheduled their tentative season opener for November 17.
Andes Tower Hills is a great ski area for skiers and snowboarders of all ability levels. They have 16 different downhill runs for everyone from beginner to expert, and there are four different lifts to get skiers and snowboarders where they need to be. The resort features 4 easy runs, 4 intermediate runs, 7 advanced runs and 1 expert run.
If you are an inexperienced snowboarder, have never skied before or need a refresher, Andes has a ski school that offers skiing snowboarding and cross country skiing lessons for all ability levels. Group, private and peewee lessons are all available.
Don’t have equipment? No problem. The on-site pro shop has ski, snowboard, pole and boot rentals for everyone. Rental packages range from $20-$30, and individual equipment needs range from $3 for a ski pole rental and $15 for snowboard boot rentals.
Not interested in skiing or snowboarding? Try tubing down the hills instead. Specifically designed tubes attach to a handle tow to give you a life up the hill. No lessons are needed, and it is a lot of fun for those who want something a little different than skiing.
