Students that know where they are attending college will greatly benefit from the College Savings Calculator. Many parents have set aside funding for college educations, but many don’t really know what it will cost. Family Life Credit services has created an online tool that allows users to add in yearly tuition, years spent in college, amount saved, and other information to calculate a realistic total needed to fund a college education at a specific University.
Another resource for college students is the budget planning guide and worksheet. This may be the most financially independent a student has ever been, so it is important to teach budgeting. The budgeting resource help students realize how to spend money responsibly and live within their means.
Mom and dad, it is tough to say good-bye, but these free, online resources can help lessen the worries about the financial success of new college students. Send them to school with the financial knowledge to succeed independently.
